After a successful year one under coach Teresa Mustin, the Stuart Lady Broncos look to improve in their journey for a state title.
The Lady Broncos posted a 25-5 record in 2015, a season that saw them finish with a loss in the first round of the state playoffs. Seniors Harlee Fischer, Rachel Kaup and Alison Stracke will lead Stuart on the journey to return to state.
Stuart steps on the court for the first time on September 1 when they host the Stuart Triangular.
Coach: Teresa Mustin
2015 record: 25-5
2015 playoffs: Loss in first round of state playoffs
Returning starters: Four
Returning letter winners: Harlee Fischer, Sr., Rachel Kaup, Sr., Alison Stracke, Sr., Peyton Alder, Jr., Kennison Kunz, Jr.
Players to watch: Harlee Fischer, Rachel Kaup, Alison Stracke
2016 Outlook: Stuart returns strong senior leadership in 2016, giving them a strong foundation to build a team around. The last time the Lady Broncos won less than 20 games was 2009, and that won’t change this year. Look for them to top 20 games and potentially make some noise at the state tournament.
The Stuart Broncos football team looks to show improvement in year two under head coach Dexter Goodner.
Just two years after a state runner-up, the Broncos posted a 5-4 record in 2015 with a first round playoff loss. They will have to improve on that if they intend to compete for the state championship in 2016.
Stuart kicks off the 2016 season August 26 against Wausa.
