Holt County Linkers Battle At O'Neill Invite

Golf squads from Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing and West Holt travels to O'Neill Thursday for the O’Neill Invite.

Hartington Cedar Catholic captured the team title with a 357 team score. O’Neill was second with a 367, West Holt took fourth with a 375, Neligh-Oakdale placed sixth with a 404, Elkhorn Valley took eighth with a 434, O’Neill’s junior varsity was 10th with a 468 and Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing finished 12th with a 494.


For the Eagles, Cole Gaughenbaugh placed fifth overall with an 88. Peyton Mathews took seventh with a 90, Riley Dinslage finished ninth with a 91, Parker Heiss shot a 98 and Tommy Kaczor added a 106.

Max Roberts placed eighth for the Huskies after shooting a 90, Garrison Hansen was 10th with a 91 and Austin Werner placed 18th with a 95. Jaxson Cadwallader tallied a 99 and Jaegher Ogden notched a 42.

Hunter Cullen led the O’Neill JV with a 102, followed Justin Beeks’ 117, Eddie Burival’s 122, Lukas Dougherty’s 127, Logan Dougherty’s 143 and Aaron Dewitt’s 147.

Hunter Tracy carded a 108, Emily Kerpgeweit recorded a 124, Logan Sanford accumulated a 127, Kyra Farwell had a 135 and Jordan Laetsch added a 138 for CWC/E.

Austin Rice was the top finisher for the Warriors after carding a 98 and placing 20th overall. Garret Belitz had a 101, Brock Kester accumulated a 102, while Caleb Payne and Neven Kline each scored a 103.


Bryson Anderson led the Falcons with a 94, to place 13th overall. Zane Richardson accumulated a 104, followed by Ben Wilcox’s 115, Josiah Wriedt’s 121 and Conner Klein’s 156.

Neligh-Oakdale competes at the Plainview Invite Monday at 8:30 a.m.

Elkhorn Valley returns to the course April 27 at the Pierce Invite at 9 a.m.

O’Neill travels to the Hartington/Newcastle tournament Tuesday at 9 a.m.

West Holt and Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing each partake in the Niobrara Valley Conference meet Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Summerland Golf Course.
