Despite a valiant effort, the Ewing girls basketball team fell to No. 1 Falls City Sacred Heart, 58-39, Thursday in the Class D2 state tournament.
The Lady Tigers hung with FCSH in the first half, trailing 22-16 at the break.
FCSH used a 22-11 run in the third quarter to pull away and seal a spot in the semifinals.
Brenna Wagner led the way with 11 points Sidney Stallbaum recorded 10 points, Ashley Koenig netted 9 points, Miranda Summers accounted for 6 points, Tiana Thramer had 2 points and Jaidyn Schindler added a point.
Ewing ends its season with a 19-6 record, as Miranda Summers and Jaidyn Schindler played their final game for the Lady Tigers.
