Area Linkers Compete At Cold West Holt Invite

Despite frigid at the Atkinson-Stuart County Club Saturday, several Antelope County golf teams had strong showings at the meet.

West Holt captured the team title with a 175 team score. Creighton was the runner-up with a 179, followed Neligh-Oakdale (187), Clearwater/Orchard (193), O’Neill (196), Boyd County (200), Plainview (203), Elgin Public/Pope John (203), West Holt’s junior varsity (224), North Central (226), Niobrara/Verdigre (255) and Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing (259).

Four of the Huskies’ five golfers medaled, led by Austin Wenner who scored a match-low 42, Jaxson Cadwallader’s was the individual runner-up with a 44, Max Roberts placed seventh with a 44, followed by Garrison Hansen’s 45. Jaegher Ogden shot a 48.

Four of the Bulldogs’ golfers also brought home a medal. Conner Hammer and Bryce Zimmerer each notched a 44 to finish fifth and sixth, respectively, Braxton Brockhaus was ninth with a 45 and Tyler Wagner took 12th with a 46. Brennan Pint accounted for a 56.

Garret Belitz (45) and Austin Rice (46) each earned medals for the Warriors, placing 10th and 11th, respectively. Caleb Payne shot a 46, Neven Kline recorded a 50 and  Brock Kester had a 59.

For OC, Ryan Wilhelm tallied a 46, followed by Gage Clifton’s 47, Blake Hoke’s 48, Rafe Grebin’s 52 and Avery Cheatum’s 66.

O’Neill’s Riley Dinslage placed third with a 44 and Cole Gaughenbaugh was 14th with a 46. Hunter Cullen accumulated a 52, Peyton Matthews had a 54 and Tommy Kaczor accounted for a 58.

Hunter Reestman paced the Wolfpack with a 46. Conor Ramold notched a 48, Skylar Reestman carded a 53, Kyle Schumacher shot a 56 and Cade Heithoff added a 57.

Joe Seger (51), Jackson Butterfield (56), Grant Mlinar (56), Lucas Olson (61) and Nathaniel Ketteler (62) competed for the Huskies’ JV squad.

Camden Eisenhauer received a medal after scoring a 46 to place 15th. Kenny Justo recorded a 48, followed Rane Vesley’s 67, Max Hollmann’s 94 and Jordayn LaPlante’s 116.

Logan Sanford led CWC/E with a 53. Emily Kerpgeweit shot a 61, Kyra Farewell tallied a 72, Cauy Duba accumulated a 73 and Jordan Laetsch added a 75,

West Holt and O’Neill travel to Ainsworth County Club for a meet Monday at 9 a.m.

The Neligh-Oakdale golf squad sends its varsity team to the Lakeview Invite Monday at 9 a.m., while the junior varsity travels to Santee for a 10 a.m. meet.

Creighton competes at the Lewis and Clark Conference meet Monday at 10 a.m. at Plainview.

Niobrara/Verdigre hosts Clearwater/Orchard, Elgin Public/Pope John, Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing at the Niobrara Invite at Rolling Hills Golf Course Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
