Two student-athletes from Holt County received academic honors from Northeast Community College.
Volleyball player Bridget Schneider received the Pinnacle Award and Brooke Bauer from the woman’s basketball team received Exemplary Academic Achievement Award.
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has three levels of academic awards it presents to student-athletes - the Pinnacle Award for Academic Achievement (4.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA)), the Superior Academic Achievement Award (3.80-3.99 cumulative GPA) and the Exemplary Academic Achievement Award (3.60-3.79 cumulative GPA).
“I am very proud of these particular student-athletes as they have done a great job of balancing the athletic demands of college with academic performance,” said Northeast Director of Athletics Jake Ripple. “It shows a great commitment to the idea of being a student-athlete. These student-athletes are setting a great example of what Hawk Athletics should be.”
