Through three games, O'Neill is yet to give up a single score. That includes Friday night's game against previously undefeated Boone Central/Newman Grove.
The Eagles topped Boone Central/Newman Grove in the highly anticipated showdown, 38-0.
O'Neill used their athleticism to contain Cardinal quarterback Dylan Gentrup all night long.
That defense was lead by Jake Young, who recorded nine total tackles on the evening. The Eagles also recovered two BC/NG fumbles on the evening.
Offensively, Bailey Thompson led the way for O'Neill, scoring three touchdowns on 13 carries. He accounted for 101 yards. Shayne Campbell added 63 yards on the ground. Jacob Todd and Alex Thramer added a touchdown each for the Eagles.
Thramer added 61 yards and a touchdown through the air as well. His one passing touchdown went to Justin Appleby on an athletic grab in the back of the endzone.
The win improves O'Neill to 3-0 on the season. They return home next week to take on Columbus Lakeview.
