With the regular season nearing a close, O'Neill is fighting hard to finish a dream season.

With a big win over Pierce Friday night, they took one step closer to that perfect season.

The Eagles took down Pierce 34-14.

O'Neill jumped on the board early, entering half with an 18-0 lead. They did not surrender a score to the Bluejays until late in the game when the win was already well in hand.

Alex Thramer had another great night to lead the Eagles, going 12 for 15 for 234 yards and four touchdowns. He also added 65 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Bailey Thompson was a workhorse on the ground as well for O'Neill, grinding out 97 yards on 14 carries.

Thramer spread the ball around a lot on the night, connecting with eight different receivers, including Wyatt Liewer who had three catches for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Justin Appleby added two receptions for 53 yards and Bryce Heiser took one of his two catches into the end zone for a touchdown.

With just two games left in the regular season, the Eagles will look to finish strong, starting with a showdown with Madison next Friday.

Other Holt County scores from Friday night include:
Stuart falls to North Central 32-6.
St. Mary's can't contain Bloomfield's rushing attack in a 36-12 loss.
Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing keeps their strong season going with important win over West Holt, 30-18.
