The O'Neill Eagles entered the season with high expectations, and Fridays win did nothing but fuel those expectations.

The Eagles dominated Grand Island Central Catholic 45-0. O'Neill got the scoring started in the first quarter, putting up 12 points before adding another 20 points in the second quarter. They added a touchdown in the third quarter and six more points in the fourth to seal the win.

Quarterback Alex Thramer led the way for O'Neill. Thramer was 12 of 17 through the air with 155 yards and three touchdowns while adding 42 yards on the ground.

Thramer's main target on the night was receiver Justin Appleby. Appleby hauled in five catches for 57 yards and a touchdown. Bryce Heiser and Wyatt Liewer added a receiving touchdown each for the Eagles.

Defensively, Corbin Dean and Jake Young each recorded six tackles to lead O'Neill.

With the win, O'Neill now moves to 1-0 as they get ready to take on Ord next Friday.
