Eagles compete at the Norfolk Catholic Invitational last week against fourteen other teams.  The girl’s team earned a 4th place finish and the boys placed 3rd as a team.

Leading the Lady Eagles was Whitney Watson placing 13th and earning a medal.  Rest of the varsity for the Eagles and placing were Taya Rainforth placed 16th, Hali Kloppenborg 19th, Kadra Sommersted-Simmons 26th, Gabby Montes 30th, and Hannah Alden 46th.

“Really felt good about how we ran.  Everyone ran better and showed a lot more strength in the middle of the race. It was a big improvement over last week.  Like the boys we need to get everyone closer to the number one runner,” said Coach Hilker.

“In the boy’s race the Eagles were lead by junior Nathaniel Jennings who placed 5th.  Scoring for the Eagles in the varsity division were McCoy Strong 17th, Caden Moore 20th, Cody Watson 36th, Oscar Lopez 38th, and Sergio Gonzalez 58th.

In the junior varsity division the boys placed first scoring twelve points.  Medalling in the junior varsity division were Ehric Strope 1st, Cuay Shaw 2nd, Zeb O’Bryan 4th, Trinity Mosel 6th, Tyler Fritz 8th, and Kevin Butterfield 9th.  Lucas Dougherty placed 14th, Tyler Beeks 16th, Justin Beeks 27th, Brett Johnston 29th, and Alex Lopez 33rd.  Vera Butterfield placed 14th in the junior high division.

The O’Neill Eagles junior high boys placed 7th.  The following boys placed as followed.  Tye Rainforth 23rd, Servando Gonzalez 26th, Froylin Felix 56th, Jakeb Lason 64th, Joel Costilla 70th, Lukas Popkes 80th, Max Wetzel 81st, and James Krotter 82nd.
