The O'Neill Public 8th Graders spent second semester learning more about entrepreneurship.
According to a press release, each student took the Gallup EP10 assessment to learn more about their natural talent towards entrepreneurship with the help of Holt County Economic Development and a reVISION grant,. Over the course of the 18 weeks, they heard from a number of guest speakers / entrepreneurs all sharing their entrepreneurial experience and learned to put together a business plan.
Dr. Dan Nekolite, Mike Peterson, Katrina Gotschall, Krystl Knabe, Scott Poese, and Valerie Kennedy all shared their experiences being an entrepreneur.
The last half of the semester included the students breaking into groups and developing a business plan. The students then had to pitch their business plans in the 'Shark Tank' to local Sharks. Dr. Dan Nekolite, Scott Poese, Randy Hupp, Linda Green, Joel Steinhauser, Matt Dennis and Michael Stepp volunteered as the Sharks.
