  More than 1,400 athletes competed in one of the area's toughest and largest high school track meets on Tuesday. O'Neill participated in the 2016 Dan Lennon Invitational Class B High School Track and Field Invitational in the Dakota Dome at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Mikayla Marvin won a gold medal in pole vault. The sophomore vaulted 9-6. Teammates Amanda Pischel and Caleigh Miles both cleared 7’ 6” to tie for 7th place Payton Birkel also placed 5th in the 800 with a time of 2:40.1. The Sprint Medley team consisting of Samantha Eichelberger, Briaunna Parks, Claire Morrow and Lilly Thompson who finished in 6th place. Coach Mike Peterson said, “We had many really nice performances today at the always competitive meet. We had many athletes exceed their personal bests and we look forward to compete at the Plainview Invite on Friday, April 1st.” Click to view all results |
