Despite falling behind 3-0 after the first inning, the O'Neill Irish Seniors were able to get the bats going to defeat Neligh 6-5.
Brenden Cleveland got the start on the mound for the Irish. Despite giving up three runs in the first inning and two more in the second, he was able to gather himself and shut down Neligh for the remainder of the game. He recorded seven strikeouts on the day while walking six batters.
The Irish bats came alive in the top of the second, scoring four the team's six runs. Drew Young and Deven Fritz brought in two runs each to lead O'Neill. Tate Schmaderer and Zach Haburchack each added one RBI as well. Young and Dylan Belik each had two hits on the night for the Irish.
