An O'Neill business has been busier than ever lately, and it is all because of the wind towers.
Jim Podany and his wife Brenda have owned The Washboard Laundromat for nearly four years and business has been fairly consistent until now.
"When the construction workers for the new wind farm got moved in is when business really picked up," Podany said. "175-200 percent increase at some points throughout the week."
The 20 washers and 12 dryers have been busiest on the weekends. Podany has seen this immense increase because of all the people working on the wind towers. He has even delivered laundry to them, because they are so busy.
“A couple people have been so busy with construction that we have actually done some drop offs for them," Podany explained. "We dry and fold the clothes for them and then deliver it to them out at the work site.”
The business has had five new washers installed int he past few months and has two more on the way.
