Allan Leverne Winings was born February 12, 1951 in Hopedale, OH to Ernest and Arlene Winings. The family relocated to southwest Holt County in Nebraska. Allan passed away on March 23, 2016 in Omaha, NE after a 9 month fight to cancer.

He attended grade school at a country school and later was the first graduating class at West Holt Public High School- Atkinson, NE in 1969. He then went on to Nebraska Technical Agriculture College in Curtis, NE majoring in Ag Business. There he met Corinne Lord. They married in Indianola, NE in 1971. Halloween 1975 a son Jeffrey Allan was born.

He was employed at Lord's Hardware in Indianola by his in-laws before moving back to Atkinson. He then worked for P&P Farms. After several years there, he decided to assist his brother Merle in his farming operation. Then came a new adventure for his wife Corinne and him purchasing Nissens Floral in O'Neill and renaming it Sunrise Floral. Hence the move to O'Neill. For many years he sold MoorMan's Feed. In 1997 he purchased Jims Feed & Seed in O'Neill and renamed it AJ Feed & Seed. Several years later he then purchased Sandhills Feeders Supply for a second location. His last stop was purchasing O'Neill Feeders Company. He then switched names there as well and moved the business over. Now known as AJ Feeders Supply in O'Neill. This is the only location operating now. He and his son Jeff then expanded and added AJ Trucking to the fold. At the time of his passing, Jeff continues to run the businesses.

Allan was never a stranger to anyone. He knew people all over the country--whether it be from pickup pulling with Northeast Nebraska Puller's Association, to selling MoorMan's Feed, snowmobiling trips, Jeep club adventures, to his customer base with AJ Feeders Supply. To many he was known as "Windy."

When he wasn't busy at the feed store or chatting with customers, friends or the employees, he was outside and enjoying adventures. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and pulling. In his later years, he especially enjoyed the Black Hills snowmobiling and Jeeping with family and friends. He was a member of the Canyon Man... A Jeep Club and had served as the position of Event Coordinator. Allan also was an avid NASCAR fan. Always watching the Sunday races.

Allan was also known as Papa to his grandsons Ty and Tyson. Together they enjoyed hanging out with their Papa, taking the scooter out in the pasture, participating in Jeep club events, camping and going to the Black Hills every year for vacation.
Allan will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
