Funeral Services Naomi Sprague

Funeral Services for Naomi Sprague, age 82, of O’Neill will be 10:30 am Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Inman Community Church with Rev. David Martinez officiating.  

Burial will be in the Inman Cemetery.  

Visitation will be from 3-5 pm Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill with a 5 pm prayer service.  

Naomi passed away on Wednesday, December13, 2017 at the O’Neill Care and Rehabilitation Center in O’Neill.  

Memorial may be made to the family for future designation.  Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill is in charge of arrangements. 

Naomi Arlene Ross was born on May 12, 1935 in O’Neill, Nebraska to Clyde and Alma (Lines) Ross.  She attended elementary school at Willow Lake Country School, District 111 and later graduated from Inman High School in 1953.  After graduating, Naomi worked for the phone company as a switch board operator and also worked as a teacher’s aide.

Naomi married Ramon Sprague on October 8, 1957 in O’Neill, and to this union five children were born.  The couple made their home on the family farm south of Inman.   After her children were all in school, she worked for a while at the Style Shop and Mododay in O’Neill. 

Naomi enjoyed sewing, crocheting and needle work.  She was a great baker and loved to cook big meals for her family and friends.  Naomi was an avid genealogist and spent a lot of time researching her family trees. 

Naomi is survived by her husband, Ramon Sprague of O’Neill; four children, Vicki Doty and husband, Lonnie, of O’Neill, Glen Sprague of Lincoln, Viona Burkinshaw of O’Neill, Gaylen Sprague of Inman; two grandchildren, Steven (Stacey) Doty of Plattsmouth, NE, Shanna (Aaron) Beard of Hastings; and four great grandchildren, Sirena and Soren Doty, Kobi Ennen, Aden, Austyn, and Shayleigh Beard.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant son.
