Funeral Services For Vernelle Kibby

Funeral services for Vernelle Kibby, age 91, of Butte, Nebraska will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Community Bible Church in Butte. Pastor Gary Binder will officiate, with burial in Butte City Cemetery.
​
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Brockhaus Funeral Home in Spencer, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.

Vernelle died Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Butte Healthcare Center.

Vernelle Kibby, daughter of G.E. and Vera (Erikson) Peppel, was born July 7, 1926, at Naper, Nebraska. She attended Naper Public Schools. On September 4, 1948, Vernelle was united in marriage to Ronald Anderson. They were blessed with two children, Rodney and Rhonda.

Vernelle and Ronald lived on a farm in Naper helping her parents with the farming for several years. They then moved to Butte where Vernelle worked as the bookkeeper for Butte Livestock Market for many years. She also worked at Thomassen Hardware Store. On August 1, 1987, Vernelle married Wayne Kibby. They enjoyed traveling and playing golf. Vernelle was a member of Community Bible Church and Missionary Ladies. She was also involved in a bowling league, and loved to dance and golf. She was affectionately known as “Aunt Pete.” Vernelle was also known for her homemade bread and always had a “frozen” cookie on hand.

She is survived by her son, Rodney (Mary) Anderson of Leesburg, Florida; daughter, Rhonda (Roger) Lechtenberg of Ainsworth, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Duane and Harriet Anderson of Madison, Wisconsin; special dance partner, Palmer Albers; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ronald Anderson and Wayne Kibby; her parents; sisters, Lou Ann Arends and husband Nick, Edeen Fischer and husband Harold; and brother, Edward Peppel and wife Doreen.
