Funeral Services for Ruby Kaczor

​Funeral services for Ruby Kaczor, age 90, of Spencer, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spencer. Pastor Ken Johnson will officiate, with burial at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the church.

Brockhaus Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of arrangements.

Ruby died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Butte Healthcare Center in Butte, Nebraska.

Ruby Laura Mott was born to William and Laura (Hines) Mott on May 18, 1927, at Venus, Nebraska. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Venus, Nebraska.

Ruby graduated from Spencer High School in 1944. She then taught school near Crawford, Nebraska. Ruby graduated from the college in Springfield, South Dakota with a teaching degree. She taught school in Lynch and later was the Boyd County Superintendent of Schools. On February 16, 1947, she was married to Elmer Kaczor. They made their home north of Spencer where they farmed, ranched, farrowed pigs, and raised chickens.

Ruby was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was a member of the choir, Dorcas, LWML, and family Bible Study. She served on the District Lutheran Women’s Missionary League Board and liked to design floats for the Rose Bowl Parade. Ruby loved to watch the grandchildren’s sports and activities. She was a fan of Husker sports and kept tabs on many college and professional sports teams.

Ruby spent her last nineteen months at Butte Healthcare Center, where she let her creativity shine with the pages she colored and the box vehicles she designed.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Elmer; parents, Willie and Laura; infant sister, Betty; son, Clint; and grandsons, Daniel and Tige.

Ruby is survived by her children, Trudy (Ken), Terry (Dori), Fred (Coke), Peg (Dwayne), and Jody (Colene); grandchildren, Tracy (Jason), Todd (Steph), Kari (Gary), Lindsey (Scott), Aaron (Bobbi), Matt, Ranessa (Shane), Danae (Travis), Ethan (Sara), Jason (Mandy), Derrick (Barb), Josh (Rachel), Tara (Brady) and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Megan (Kevin), Justin, Jenny, Trevor, Wyatt, Garrett, Kolt, Cheyenne, Paige, Karson, Kaden, Ali, Connor, Joel, Emma, Cody, Ayva, Hadlee, Hannah, Harper, Hayden, Hope, Bailey, Ewan, Aidan, Nikai, Ruby, Marley, Nory, Jacob, Levi, James, Grace, Isaac, Tate, Kruse, and Brynlee; sister, Eunice (Kenny); sister-in-law, Lyla; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
