Funeral Services For Robert Berigan

Mass of Christian Burial for J. Robert “Bob” Berigan, 84 yrs, of O’Neill, NE will be 10:30 AM Monday, March 30, 2015, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill. Burial will be in the O’Neill Cemetery with Military Rites by the O’Neill American Legion Simonson Post #93. Visitation will be Sunday, March 29, 2015, from 4- 8 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM, at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill. Bob passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Omaha, NE. Memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Schools or St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Berigan, infant son Tom, parents James and Helen Berigan, siblings Marian McQuillan, Helen Stinson, and Jim Berigan.

He is survived by his sisters Joan Joyce and Mary Kay Pasin (Mario); children Kittie Tuchscherer (Ewald), Mary Daly, Barb Tracy, John (Mary), Liz Payne (Gene), Jim (Cathy), and Will (Bridget); grandchildren Kate (Joe), RJ (Dana), Libby, Tom, Maggie, Conor, Annie, Jack, Liz, Charlie, Nancy, Mary Kate, Molly, Maeve, Frannie, Lucy Clare, and Rosaleen.

Bob was born in Omaha, NE and grew up in Atkinson, NE. Bob's home and work were deeply connected to Holt and Boyd County, NE. His strong commitment to these places is rooted in his respect for the land, and the people there who consistently provided him with examples of hard work, commitment and decency. Bob was deeply grateful for his gift of faith. His love of St. Patrick's Church and St. Mary's School supported his deep connection to God. Bob loved his friends and always found deep admiration for their gifts. His family was always in the forefront of his mind. Nancy and Bob's children provided him with a great sense of purpose. His enthusiasm continued to grow toward his family and his alive and gentle love carried him to the end.
