Funeral Services for Ethel Mae Adamson

Funeral Services for Ethel Mae (Endicott) Adamson, age 87, of O’Neill, NE, will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Faith Community Church in O’Neill. Burial will be in the O’Neill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 10, 2015, from 5-7 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill. Rev. Steve Randolph will officiate. Ethel passed away Friday morning, August 7, 2015, at the Golden Living Center in O’Neill. Memorials may be made to Faith Community Church in O'Neill.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ethel Mae was born on April 2, 1928, in Niobrara, NE, to Adrian and Hazel (Collins) Endicott. She graduated from Lynch High School. Ethel Mae married Donald D. Adamson on November 2, 1947 in O’Neill, NE. She worked briefly for Mannon’s Drugstore in Creighton after graduating from high school, then accepted a job in O’Neill with Northwestern Bell as a switchboard operator. After Northwestern Bell closed their switchboard operation moving to automated switchboards, she went to work with the Outlaw Grocery Store in O’Neill. There, she held numerous positions and ended as Manager until her retirement. Ethel Mae enjoyed numerous hobbies throughout her life, including gardening, bowling (she once bowled a 299 and a 300 game), playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. She had a strong faith throughout her life and especially enjoyed Bible Classes and attending church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her parents, and 2 brothers, Elmer and Harvey Endicott.
