Funeral Services For Carmen L. Cronk

A Funeral Mass for Carmen L. Cronk, age 86, of Page, NE will be 10:00 AM Thursday, January 4, 2018 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ewing, NE. Burial will be at the Page Cemetery in Page, NE at 1:30 PM.  Rev. John Norman will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-8 PM with a Parish Rosary at 6 PM, at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill, NE. Carmen passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the O’Neill Care and Rehabilitation Center in O’Neill. Memorials may be given to the family for future designation. Biglin’s Mortuary of O’Neill are in charge of arrangements.

Carmen was born in Plainview, NE on September 30, 1931 to Melvin and O’Linda (GrosseRhode) Roach. In 1949 she graduated from Bonesteel High School in Bonesteel, SD before receiving her Teaching Degree from Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD. Carmen taught school in Page, NE for one year before marrying Warren Cronk on July 29, 1952 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ewing. To this union seven children were born.

She was a very devoted mother and housewife who loved raising her children. They could always count on a meal at the table and clean clothes in their dressers. Carmen enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, cooking, canning and doing embroidery. Along with being a substitute teacher, she spent many years teaching piano lessons.

She was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. There she played the organ for many years and belonged to the Christian Mothers. She also enjoyed being a member of the Eastside Kountry Klub and the Page Improvement Club.

Carmen is survived by children and spouses; Joan Maple of Orchard, NE, Lee Ann Farrand-Widhalm and husband Tim of Aurora, NE. LaVon Williamson of Aurora, NE, Sally Cronk of Page, NE, Lynette Hamernik of Norfolk, NE, Alan Cronk and wife Karen and Scott Cronk and Wife Robin, both of Page, NE. 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and brother Larry Roach and wife Sharon of Spalding, NE.

She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Cronk and two sons in law, Merlyn Maple and Jim Farrand.

Cronkite family so sorry for your loss. Carmen was an amazing woman. I loved coming to your house when we were kids. I have great memories of all of you. God bless and hugs

I meet Carmen when I was a traveling CNA from TN last year. I loved spending time with and taking care of her. I apologize for your loss.
