Five communities - including two in Holt County - were each awarded $5,250 by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) to complete a housing study.
The grant is part of $64,500 in 2015 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) second round open cycle Planning Category funding given to seven communities for ongoing planning efforts.
Page, Ewing, Orchard, Brunswick and Oakdale all received the $5,250 grant.
The grants awarded to the five will be matched by CORE Development, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
The grants are part of Nebraska’s annual allocation of CDBG funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Funds are administered by DED.
