The brackets for the NVC Volleyball Tournament have been released and, as expected, the road to the championship will go through Elgin.
Elgin Public/Pope John earned the top seed after what has been a 23-1 regular season. Coming in as the two seed will be St. Mary's, who are 17-3 on the year. At 15-5, Chambers/Wheeler Central is the three seed. Stuart is the fourth seed at 16-7 while North Central is the fifth seed thanks to a 15-7 record. Ewing (10-11), Elkhorn Valley (12-9), Clearwater-Orchard (13-10), West Holt (6-13), Neligh-Oakdale (9-14), Niobrara/Veridgre (4-17), Boyd County (3-17) and Santee (1-19) drew the remaining eight seeds, in order. Action will kick off Monday, October 24 when Stuart takes on Santee in Stuart at 5 p.m. Then Clearwater-Orchard and West Holt square off at 6:15 p.m. at Pope John with the winner playing EPPJ at 7:30 p.m. North Central and Boyd County will go head-to-head at 6:15 p.m. in Stuart for the chance to face the winner of the Stuart/Santee match up. Elkhorn Valley and Neligh-Oakdale will meet in St. Mary's at 6:15 p.m. with the winner facing St. Mary's at 7:30 p.m. Ewing takes on Niobrara/Verdigre at 6:15 p.m. in Bartlett for the chance to take on Chambers/Wheeler Central at 7:30 p.m. Games will continue throughout the week, with the championship game scheduled for Friday in Niobrara at 7:30 p.m. Click the link to download the full NVC Tournament bracket. |
