Renegades Sweep In First Round Of Holiday Tournament

​The Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades girls and boys basketball teams went 2-0 in their first rounds of the holiday tournament on Tuesday night.
 
Both teams faced Ewing in their first matchups of the Cyclone Holiday tournament in Clearwater with the girls sweeping 61-36, and the boys taking the game 48-17.
 
The Renegade boys will be facing the Cyclones in Clearwater at 7:30 p.m. in the second round today while the girls will be facing Elkhorn Valley at 6 p.m.
 
The Ewing Tigers boys will be facing Elkhorn Valley at 4:30 while the Lady Tigers will be tipping off against the Cyclones at 3 p.m.
 
The Lady Renegades had a fast lead over Ewing, ending the first quarter with a 19-10 advantage. They held the lead throughout the entire game, ending in a 61-36 win.  Jacie Laetsch led the team, scoring 27 of the game points.
 
The boys team ended the first quarter against the Ewing Tigers leading with 21-2 and ended the first half with a 36-5 advantage.  They held their lead in the second half, ending the score with 48-17.  Connor Croxen led the team in scoring 16 game points followed Daniel Libolt with 8; Cody Ramsey with 8; Brenden Pelster with 6, Carter Croxen with 5; and Zane Patrick with 5.
