West Holt Medical Services is proud to announce the promotion of Jennifer Poessnecker, RN, to the role of Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO).

Poessnecker began her nursing career at West Holt Medical Services as a nurse aide in 2004 after graduating from Stuart Public Schools. Shortly after that she attended nursing school and received her licensed practical nurse (LPN) degree. Upon completion of her LPN degree, she resumed employment at West Holt Medical Services.

Poessnecker continued her education while employed and received her associates degree in nursing from Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE in 2008. Since that time, she has provided quality patient-centered care to inpatients, outpatients and emergency room patients of all ages at West Holt Medical Services.

During her tenure at West Holt Medical Services, Poessnecker has been an integral team member with the installation and implementation of the electronic medical records (EMR) system since January 2012. She also has served as the Shared Governance Scheduling Committee Chairperson until her promotion to ACNO.

In addition to Poessnecker’s ACNO duties, she is also the infection control nurse and the informatics nurse. As the informatics nurse her responsibilities are to:

-Analyze and interpret patient, nursing and information data systems to improve nursing services.
-Develop and implement policies and procedures related to the EMR system.
-Develop and deliver training programs through the EMR.

In making the announcement, Chief Nursing Officer Tana O’Neill, stated, “Jennifer has been a part of our great hospital nursing team here at West Holt Medical Services for several years, and has been taking on more roles and responsibilities. The addition of Assistant Chief Nursing Officer will fit in very well with her other responsibilities. She is very organized and detail oriented so this is a well-deserved promotion.”
