The Stuart American Legion is sponsoring the Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall at the City Park in Stuart, beginning Thursday, June 18th through Monday, June 22nd.
The public is invited to come visit the wall at any time during the day or night during this time. A special program will take place at the site on Saturday, June 20th at 2:00 pm.
The Moving Wall is a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., available upon request by Veterans Organizations. The Wall generally spends around five to six days at each site every year from April until November. It was devised by Vietnam Veteran John DeWitt in 1982 as a way for people to experience and commemorate those who served in the war, but are unable to travel to the nation's capitol to do so.
