There was bad news and good news for the O'Neill Eagles Friday night as they took on Columbus Lakeview.

The bad news was they finally gave up their first points of 2016.

The good news was it didn't matter.

The Eagles rode the arm of quarterback Alex Thramer to a 36-14 victory over Lakeview Friday night.

The Eagles came out of the gates strong, scoring 29 points before the halftime period. They added 13 more in the second half to seal the victory. The six points they allowed in the third quarter were the first points the Eagles had allowed in 2016.

Thramer was fantastic for O'Neill, going 14 of 25 passing for 215 yards and three touchdowns. He added nine carries for 48 yards as well.

His top target on the night was Justin Appleby, who hauled in five grabs for 98 yards.

The Eagles now look to continue their unbeaten streak next Thursday when they host West Point-Beemer.
