Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Biglin’s Mortuary.
Burial will be in the O’Neill Cemetery, with Military Rites conducted by the O’Neill American Legion Simonson Post #93.

Merle passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the Golden Living Center in O’Neill. Merle was born on October 18, 1925, in Emmet, NE, to Frank and Mildred (Bailey) Foreman. He attended Emmet School, District 20, through 10th grade.

Merle started driving truck when he was 14 years old. He first drove for J.B. Ryan and then for Charlie Fox. Merle then owned his own truck and was proud to have owned 6 different trucks over the years. He started with the Emmet Hay Company in the late 1950’s and worked over 30 years with them before he retired in 1988.

Merle had driven over 3,000,000 miles in all his years of trucking, and after he retired, he enjoyed riding along with other truck drivers. He had lived in Emmet since birth until he moved to Page in the mid 1990’s. Merle was at the Golden Living Center for 10 years before he passed away.

Merle enjoyed having a cold one with his friends, and he loved listening to polka music. He also enjoyed relaxing in front of his window and watching the cars go by.

Merle is survived by 2 sisters, Norma Harrington of Mission, KS, and Jeanie Abels and husband Terry of Mesa, AZ; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jim Foreman and his wife, Shirley; and one brother-in-law, Frank Harrington.
