Due to the generosity of many donors, the cardiac and pulmonary patient at West Holt Medical Services will have more flexibility in appointment scheduling.
West Holt Medical Services Foundation awarded Cardiopulmonary Services at West Holt Medical Services $6,775 to purchase add-on equipment for the cardiac wireless monitor system.
Since 2013, Cardiopulmonary Services has seen a 61% increase in patients due to the lack of availability of appointments and the new equipment allows for the cardiopulmonary staff to accommodate more patients in a timely manner.
“You can sense the feeling of camaraderie between the patients as they are working through their programs,” Clinical Coordinator for Cardiopulmonary Services and Registered Nurse, Talya Shutt shares. “They have a great time and support each other. Sometimes it can even get competitive. I truly enjoy the time I get to spend with the patients in the rehab environment.”
Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is a total health and fitness program designed to benefit patients recently hospitalized or under treatment for heart or lung disease.
The rehab staff at West Holt provides the individualized support and attention each patient needs to recover quickly and resume a full, satisfying life with plans are tailored to each patient’s individual needs, abilities and medical condition.
